Ipod Touch Apps

I love my IPod Touch. It’s capabilities are amazing and nowadays hacking it is so easy. Posts on hacking the ipod are coming, as are posts about using the Ipod for security issues.

This is a list of Ipod Apps I approve, i’ll add the repos when i break my ipod and have to restore next time.

Utilities

Installer / Cydia - i like both.

Photoboard - MS Surface like photo viewing

iFlix - Netflix Queue Manager (i can’t seem to find this one lately..)

The Apple Apps - Mail, Maps, Stocks, Weather, Notes

OrbLive - My fav app currently, works with orb.com, view videos / music remotely

Touchpad - VNC touch interface for remote computers. Great for presentations and projectors.

Feeds - RSS reader

Pocket Touch - Control Itunes with swipes and movements

BossTool - Free space

MobileScrobbler - Last.fm tracker, keeps track of songs and updates your last.fm profile when you are in
wifi.

NemusSync - Sync’s your google calander with your ipod/iphone calander. Sweet.

Metasploit - Yes, it does work. =) Use Cydia.

Terminal - Terminal.

Customize - Mess with your interfaces

Sysinfo - it is what it sounds like.

Stumbler - Wifi Stumbler

VNsea - VNC screen viewer, not as good as Touchpad, but you see the screen on your ipod

SMBPrefs - Themes and whatnot

Services - Turn on and off basic services

iSplit - Split up a bill

ShopList - Simple Shopping List App

Categories - Keep things organized

Colloquy - IRC

MobileChat - The best IM app

MxTube - Download Youtube vids to the ipod hard drive

Maps Offline - Great for directions, way easy to use, saves directions from maps for use when not in wifi

Games

CubicMan - Great puzzle game, roll a rectangle around and get it to the right spot.

gpSPhone - GBA Emulator, use the portrait view.

Sketches - My 4 y/o likes this much more than i do. It’s an etch - a - sketch.

Insomnia - Keeps wifi on when you suspend the ipod. Must have.

Parking Lot - Puzzle Game, Get the yellow car out of the parking lot or go insane.

Tris - Awesome **tris port. Best utilization of touch.

iPhysics - fun for 5 minutes, most levelpacks suck.

Lexitron - Scrabble sort of

Pool - Billiards

Yeti3d - OpenGL sort of homebrew app, throw cottonballs at monsters

iSolitaire - Great game, VERY hard, play it and you will understand.

NES - NES emulator, actually play this one in landscape mode.

Raging Thunder - Gyro based racing game, hard to get used to, but fun

snes4iphone - SNES emulator, i prefer portrait on this one too.

NOIZ2SA - Really odd but awesome space invaders type of game, totally addicting

Touch Touch Revolution - Guitar hero for Ipod. Uses songs in your itunes library. Totally awesome if you have wifi and rythym. There are lots of crappy patterns on there, but there are some good ones. You’ll see what i mean.

rRootage - Variant of NOIZ2SA, fight big ships. Totally awesome.

psx4all - PSX emulator, i have not used this yet. Supposedly it works with some roms.
