Number One Gun

A bit softer than my normal faire, but a good band with catchy tunes none the less.

Number One Gun is a Christian rock band from Chico, California, that was most recently signed to Tooth & Nail Records. They self-released their debut EP Forever in 2002, before releasing their follow-up albums Celebrate Mistakes (2003) on Floodgate Records and Promises for the Imperfect (2005) on Tooth & Nail Records.

In 2006, Number One Gun decided to move on to different projects despite their growing success. A recently posted MySpace bulletin cleared up the state of the band, stating that Schneeweis has a new band called The North Pole Project, Keene and Mallory formed Surrogate, and Sellers plays bass in Armed for Apocalypse.

Since then, they have reunited to release The North Pole Project on January 15, 2008.

Oh, Sleeper

Oh, Sleeper is a Christian Metalcore band from Ft. Worth, Texas signed to Solid State Records. Oh, Sleeper formed in April of 2006 after former members of short-lived rock band Terminal got together with former Between the Buried and Me guitarist Shane Blay. Eventually they found a vocalist in Micah Kinard and began practicing. As the 4 members began sledging through all the normal problems of a band start-up (no place to practice, no money and different schedules) the biggest obstacle was finding the last and final member. Countless awkward auditions still fell short of the missing position, until the thought of long time friend and previous guitar player and band mate of the guys in Terminal, James Erwin. After adding James to the lineup, the band released an EP during this time titled The Armored March, through 1×1 music. The band was discovered and quickly signed with Solid State Records in the Summer of 2007. Since then, the band has been touring and has recently recorded their debut album, “When I Am God,” which was released on October 23, 2007.

Secret and Whisper

This is one of my new favorite bands. I was a huge fan of Stutterfly and just happened upon this band at the truth drum site.

Secret and Whisper is a rock band from Canada, made up of former members of the band Stutterfly. The band has been officially named Secret and Whisper as of February 24, 2007. They felt it was necessary to think of a new band name because their old singer Chris Stickney had left the band in August, 2006 shortly after being dropped from Maverick Records. When the new singer Charles Furney (formerly of thebleedingalarm) joined the band they made their first song together entitled “Vanishings”. Their new musical direction differs slightly from Stutterfly. - from Last.fm
